According to Tehrani, while Kick presented appealing financial terms, Rumble’s counteroffer, which allowed for fewer streaming obligations—just 1-2 streams per month—proved more attractive to the content creators.
Despite this setback, Kick remains focused on its long-term goals. Co-founder Trainwreck recently clarified that the platform is prioritizing technological advancements over major signings for the time being.
He suggested that future efforts could involve more transformative moves, such as the acquisition of Twitch itself. “We aren’t doing big signings right now; our priority is our tech. But the goal is the same: to either beat Twitch or buy them out,” said Tehrani.
