Is RTP on demo slots higher than on real money?
Hi. When I am not sure about whether to put my money into a new slot machine, I try the demo mode just to check it out. Several times, I’ve had the feeling that I was doing really well, but as soon as I switch to real money, my balance starts to go down.
Are online casinos trying to lure us in with a different software just to take our money once we start playing for real?
My question is, does it really matter? Everybody knows that you can’t win continuously on slots. Play at your own risk.
What nobody here seems to consider is big numbers. Every story here from losing everything to taking a single wager into a one million pound bankroll can be true. In fact, it should be because everything that can happen, happens.
That is because the samples are tiny. 1000, even 10,000 spins at a slot machine are not nearly enough to deduct anything meaningful from the results.
Only if you played millions, maybe hundreds of millions of spins of a demo next to a real money slot, would you see if both versions come to similar results. all experiments with smaller numbers than this will not yield results but coincidences.
Time for someone to actually give this a try. Or does anyone know about a long time text of demo slots?
Actually, there is one known case of a provider offering casinos a slot with two different RTPs. Several players reported that the win rate was outstanding on demo play and non-existent on real money play. After an inquiry of the casino, the provider admitted that they had meddled with the RTP and pulled the game.
