Hi. When I am not sure about whether to put my money into a new slot machine, I try the demo mode just to check it out. Several times, I’ve had the feeling that I was doing really well, but as soon as I switch to real money, my balance starts to go down.
Are online casinos trying to lure us in with a different software just to take our money once we start playing for real?

Let me just get this straight. EVen though it feels like casinos might want to use “winningier” slot software to make people play, it would be way too much hassle and accrue too many costs to come up with a second version of the software.

You say that, but isn’t that just a flip of a switch? And by that I mean changing a few factors of the equation?

Nah, it’s not that simple.

Would be interesting to know though. Can you just quickly change the RTP by replacing a number? I have no idea.

I guess the providers aren’t gonna tell us about this.

That’s got to be one of the best kept secrets in the business.

I play both and I don’t think that in the long run it makes any difference.

This has got to be one of these questions where no answer will ever be universally accepted.

Been playing plenty of demo versions, and italmost never feels “better” than the real game.

Maybe the human mind is playing a trick on us here. We tend to remember the real money losses the most, so then when you hit a demo and win, you compare that and it feels like demos are winners and real money slots are not.

That psychological explanation is the best I’ve read on this thread.

Agreed. But then all we need is a long term test of both in one game. Anyone up for this?
