Gambling should be fun. It must be fun. If it isn’t fun anymore, that might be a sign that you’re in trouble. Have a ready and think about your own gambling behavior.

Interesting and important topic. When the fun stops, the addiction begins.

Nobody wants to talk about this, but even if there is only a small fraction of players actually in danger, we need to pay attention to them, too.
Most of the time here, I feel like it’s people having fun playing, but if you feel someone sounds like they are in a bad spot, point them out and tell them to get help.

Some people can’t be helped. Addiction is a hereditary phenomenon. If you are prone to addiction, it’ll happen whatever you do.

While it is true that there is a genetic disposition for addiction, we can’t just turn a blind eye if someone lose their house over gmabling. Stuff like this is always makin gheadlines, and they might make gambling illegal at some point.

In my opinion, no. I believe that people should understand that gambling is a harmless past time and that there are responsible ways of engaging in it. In addition, you have the option to invest the money or give portion of your winnings to a good cause. It is up to you to decide how you will manage or conduct yourself in gambling.

@Ron Newton I think your right. Its all about self control like consumption of anything else.

Agreed. People love to talk about taking responsibility for themselves, but when it comes to restraint, they’re crying for the government.

Also, isn’t addiction a medical condition? You have to get treatment and let other people play if they can handle it.

It’s not like having a blocked nose. Gambling addiction can cost you a lot more than some days in bed.
